Feedback board

Collect ideas in one place, and close the loop when they ship.

Give users a board to post ideas, vote, and comment, in your widget and on a public page. Move ideas across a roadmap, merge duplicates, and email every voter the moment their idea ships.

faq.md
Where can users post ideas?

In a Feedback tab inside the ReleaseDock widget and on a public board on your hosted domain. Both use the same boards, so a vote in one place counts everywhere.

Do users need an account?

No. Visitors can vote without signing in and give an email to post an idea or a comment. If your app passes the user's email, the widget uses it instead of asking.

How are duplicates handled?

Users see similar ideas as they type a title, and the dashboard suggests likely duplicates for each new idea. Merging moves votes, comments, and links, keeps one vote per person, and redirects the old idea's address.

How do voters find out an idea shipped?

Link the idea to a changelog entry and move it to your shipped status. Every voter with an email gets one notification with a link to the entry, and can unsubscribe in one click.

Can I moderate what gets posted?

Yes. Turn on approval per board so new ideas wait for review, hide or delete ideas and comments, leave internal notes only you can see, and block an identity or an email.
